Spatial data products and layers

Ready-made and custom layers for demand, access, risk and infrastructure, delivered as files, tiles or API.

Layers are ready-made, maintained datasets that answer the questions most companies ask about places: how many people live there, how much they are likely to spend, how long it takes to reach a shop or a clinic, and how often the area floods. Each layer records its sources, its licence terms and when it was last refreshed.

You can license a single layer for one city, a family of layers for a country, or call them through an API from your own systems. The same layers sit inside every Kubinu application, so what you buy as data also powers the tools.

BASE

Base layers

The skeleton of the map: buildings, roads, places, addresses, boundaries, terrain.

Layers in this family
  • Building footprints: outline of every building. Building polygon, refreshed every 6 to 12 months.
  • Road network: routable roads with surface and class. Road line, refreshed every 6 months.
  • Settlement extents: where towns, villages and hamlets are. Polygon and 100 m grid, refreshed yearly.
  • Administrative and service boundaries: states, districts, wards, enumeration areas and client territories. Polygon per level, updated when boundaries change.
  • Points of interest: shops, markets, schools, clinics, banks, places of worship. Point, refreshed quarterly.
  • Address and geocoding index: places people write in addresses, linked to coordinates. Point and building, updated continuously.
  • Elevation and slope: height of the ground and how steep it is. 30 m grid, does not change.
  • Rivers and catchments: waterways, catchment areas and flow paths. Line and polygon, does not change.
